Major Activities of the Department
Development of policy works/guideline for the implementation of academic programmes of the Institute.
Planning /Designing and development of Institute academic programmes.
Development of self-learning course materials.
Planning and conducting researches in all aspect of teaching education for the development of education in Nigeria.
Organizing capacity building workshop for teachers at all level of education through Continuing Professional Development programme (CPD)
Preparing and reviewing student handbooks on all programmes in collaboration with other relevant departments on regular basis.
Collection and collation of Institute data to produce statistical digest.
Designing and development of the Institute’s Journals and Monograph.
Organizing teacher’s summit, conferences and Seminars.
Collection, analysis, evaluating and keeping of all data on academic programme of the Institute
Organizing capacity building for regular and adhoc staff of the Institute on principles and practice of distance education and programme implementation.
Liaising with other department of the Institute on the generation of memos for Presentation/considerations of the joint consultative committee on education (JCCE) and National Council on education (NCE) as the effect policy formulation and programme implementation.
Collation of activities of all departments in the Institute to generate annual report.
