Proposes implements and maintains sound and cost effective manpower sourcing, training and developing policies/procedure in accordance with the Institute over all corporate plans and objectives
Ensures the implementation of Government remuneration packages to all staff including handling retiree’s benefits and work man’s compensations.
Designs, formulates and evaluates corporate staff training need through job-evaluation and performance appraisals to enhance and sustain productivity
Proposes result-oriented, management control procedures, employee Industrial relations policies as well as sound rules and regulation to guard against indolence and indiscipline
Legal:
Ensures formulation, execution and Review of policies
Ensures compliance with Government policies, rules and regulations
Academic Record Division
Handle all complaints of correction or omission or certificate
Authentication of Certificates and statement of results of former students/current student of the Institute and issue statement of results as approved by Academic Board committee when certificates are not yet ready.
Ensure advert of programmes/courses as approved by the Board.
Verification of applicants entry qualification and credentials
Report of fraud in students admission and registration for consideration by the board of studies and management
Record of students facing disciplinary action due to fraudulent practices
Liaise with the admission committees and the computer center on all admission matters
Keep accurate records of the registration of all staff of the Institute
Arrange for advert of the courses/sales of admission forms
Coordinates the processing of application forms of prospective students
Compiles the approved lists of admission
Assist in execution of approved council decisions.
Pensions and Welfare
Maintain the records of exiting and retiring staff.
Ensure Payments of government remuneration packages to all retiring staff by PFA’s and other government agencies
Assist deceased staff next of kin receive benefits as at when due
Ensure registration and release of PFA’s PIN NOs to all registered existing staff of the institute and liaise with stakeholders in the various agencies that has to do with pension matters.
Formulate and implement staff welfare policies
Ensure verification of existing pensioners to ascertain death and change location
Humanities
Conduct Recruitment, employment and promotion/interviews
Preparation and presentation of upgrading list to management
Responsible for federal character requirement
Preparation of staff list for confirmation
Coordinate staff training and development
Staff job evaluation, personnel audit and skill analysis
Manpower budgeting
Ensure proper record keeping and movement of files
Custodians of files both subject and personnel.
Works, Housing and Transportation
General maintenance and allocation of Institute housing, office complex and fleets of vehicles within HQ, State and Zonal offices. Ensure institute vehicles are properly insured and claims paid
Ensure proper procedures in renting houses for Zonal and State offices
Ensure maintenance of Institute’s equipment, properties and general environment
Prepare annual budget for the Institute on-going capital projects and ensure contracts for capital projects and procurement of equipment’s adhere to deadlines
Ventures, Printing Press and Stores
Ensure effective operation of the printing press
Ensure proper care of the store and safety against pilferage and fire.
Responsible for keeping record of issuance of items as appropriate.

In charge of the institute farm and generate data for land users
Staff Clinic
Provide health care for staff and community as a whole
Primary School.
Provide basic education to staff children and the community as a whole

Provide accommodation for quest, seminars and workshops
